- Glycoproteins: compound containing carbohydrate covalently linked to protein
- Glycoaminoglycans/Proteoglycans: subclass of glycoproteins in which the carbohydrate units are polysaccharides that contain amino sugars
- Glycopeptide: carbohydrate consisting of carbohydrate linked to oligopeptide of L and D amino acids
- Peptidoglycans: glycosoaminoglycan formed by altering residues of D-glucosamine and either muramic acid or L-talosaminuronic acid
